Attributes of a Good Referee:

• Professional
  • Act and Dress Appropriately.
  • Know the Rules (League, Game, Tourney).
  • Arrive 15 Minutes prior to assignment.
• Integrity
  • Honesty.
  • Fair and Impartial.
  • Make sure no player or team has an unfair advantage.
• Hustle
  • Switch.
  • Be in the proper position to make calls.
  • Move to get the angle and appropriate position.  
• Make Calls
  • Consistency - Make the same calls on the same plays.
  • Control and Manage the game.
  • Apply common sense.
• Communication
  • Conduct Pre-Game Meeting with Head Coaches and Captains.
  • Approachable - Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
  • Do NOT be dictatorial or condescending.
